Scotland, along with the rest of the UK, compares favourably with most other EU member states in providing value for money in conveyancing services, according to a recently published EU survey.
The study, by independent consultants led by the University of Bremen on behalf of the European Commission, finds that the UK jurisdictions provide relatively high levels of consumer protection, are less "protectionist" in terms of their rules and have lower conveyancing fees on average than many of the other countries covered.
